If that's the case then I'll try HB first... I'm only a few weeks past a 30-year cigarette habit and still admit to some lung sampling...
I'm about a month and a half behind you in coming off that habit. HB is a good one. It'll tolerate a cigarette smoker's cadence fairly well, and it has a nicotine level you'll definitely notice but without putting you on your keister. If you subconsciously decide to sample you'll know it, but it's more like a whiskey bite in your throat than a brick in your gut the way some tobaccos can.

Plus it's pretty good.

Good to know, thanks. Currently I'm chugging through some codger burleys for my Vitamin N fix with an evening swim through the Balkans. I had some OGS too but it was so delicious I smoked it all, lol. Next order!

For y’all that are trying to kick cigs, you might give Five Brothers a whirl. It’s a straight Burley, with more nic than either HB or OJK. Not as flavorful in my opinion, but still a good smoke.
I would recommend D&R Picayune, but they quit making it. ?
I second that. Never got hooked on cigs but helped a friend get off them with 5 brothers and Picayune. It's unfortunate that picayune is out of production, it is horrifically strong and cannot be inhaled, perfect for quitting cigs. I was fortunate enough to land a pound from a forum member last year and I'm trying not to smoke it too much. I would also suggest Ryback for getting off the cigs. Not quite as strong as 5B but close, and tastier. The shags from gawith and hoggarth are good too, dark bird's eye and Kendal dark come to mind. Also C&D Burley flake #1 and 3 are strong too

I have considered them, but I find PA works fine and there's a B&M in my area that sells the 1.5 oz pouches for $3.99. Maybe I'll add some to my next order....

Eventually everyone will convert to the bookshop. While I don’t smoke it anymore, it was the blend that put me on the straight and narrow with the possibility of burley with perique and red va as a condiment. For me that that formula makes me feel at home.
It sounded great on paper, like OJK and other C&D blends, and sorely disappointed on the taste front.

I've noticed C&D are like pineapple on pizza. You generally either really like them or don't. Personally, they're hit or miss for me. But when they hit, they're good.
I've tried 12 or so from the GLP/C&D catalogue and liked just Byzantium and Bayou Morning Flake, all the rest I found tasteless, Mississippi Mud I found unbearable to be near.

One thing I’ve found with Hi Birdy is that it didn’t strike my fancy much in the first bowl but I ended up smoking straight through the time and really enjoyed it starting in the 2nd-3rd bowl. Another thing I’ve found in general with popular C&D blends is that they are very fresh lately so can benefit from a little jar time on fresh tins. Even a couple of weeks can make a big difference. Yes, even on burley blends.
