Has Borkum Riff Changed ?

Like aristokles posted here, I haven't smoked Borkum Riff since the late 1960's early 1970's. And I smoked a lot of it back then when the Danish Freehand pipes came into style. Sure does bring back memories just thinking about those days.

Although I don't fancy the American Budweiser, it was changed sometime after 1995 into what it is now and very likely no one noticed.

So far I thought Borkun is quite acceptable kind of aromarics. What could be wrong with their mixtures, if some of us are not satisfied with the smoke?
Or do I understand something wrongly?
