I had the same experience. My mother loved Harry Belafonte. She even took me out of school to see him in concert. I remember Miriam Makeba singing The Click Song. This must have been in the late fifties also. Decades later I saw him at a car dealer getting his car repaired. Have to say, I was still a bit star struck.

My parents listened to his records and I also became fan. Sad to hear of his passing, and decided to listen to one of his greatest recordings in my opinion at Carnegie Hall in 1959.

I was fortunate enough to meet him a number of years ago. He signed my copy of this album, but refused to sign the other because he thought I was going to sell them on eBay because I brought more than one LP with me.
