I would think it was unnecessary viewing...but then I spotted Ben Stiller's character in the trailer and I thought maybe it would be fun to see him again...

For what it is, it's okay, but I wouldn't get a Netflix subscription just for that. Definitely not worth it. There is a reason why it's a Netflix movie and not a nation wide cinema release.

As for the movie itself, I thought it was pretty good, not great, until the tournament at the end. That was just weird. I think they were trying to poke fun at LIV golf, and how LIV golf was taking golfers away from the PGA etc. Though the movie version of LIV is completely absurd and dumb and not real golf. Just very weird. 3/4 of the movie was pretty good though, but no where close to the original movie.

I have a fondness for the original film (it’s one of the few Adam Sandler films I like). I’ve been watching the new one (the end credits are playing right now) and while there were a couple of amusing moments, overall it was too ridiculous for my taste.

He's hit or miss with me.
I absolutely hate the baby talk thing like in Billy Madison.
But love movies like Grown Ups, Chuck &Larry, Click....
And his more serious rolls show he CAN be a good actor....Uncut Gems, Sandy Wexler, Hustler....

I'm not much of a Sandler fan but I did like his remake of The Longest Yard and his animated Eight Crazy Nights.
