That's right. A comedian over here called Al Murray added a bit to that quote:

"the UK and America are divided by a common language.... and a fucking great ocean, thank Christ"


BTW, he is a comedian and he's just joking. I'm sure he's like me and loves America and it's culture. I'm a massive fan of American movies, tv, music, literature and even wrestling.

Great movie! Wish I could get a DVD of the original, as all they sell now is the director's cut which is much longer (mostly songs).

Funny how few movies Hollywood has made on the revolutionary period (can't imagine why).

But thank God The Patriot got made...great movie IMO.

This scene has Mel's immortal line about "trading one tyrant 3000 miles away for 3000 tyrants one mile away".
