Happy Birthday USMC & Pipe

Well I have shaped and done the initial sanding on this pipe. I will be hand cutting a red and black speckled stem for it and inlaying the medallion in the photo on the front of the bowl. I will post pics when it is finished, but wanted to show my progress and also take the opportunity to honor our Marines, the Corps, and all our Veterans! Happy Birthday USMC!!!

It is huge. The front part of the bowl is 3 inches, and it is 2.25 wide. I wanted a manly pipe for a manly man and manly tradition. He can smoke it or use it as a weapon. i buy my briar from Juame Hom in Spain.

I cut the spot for the medalion but haven't attached it yet, but this is basically what it will look like. I think I'm going to polish and wax the briar first.
