Just wow.
Please let us know who the carver is and perhaps link us to some more of his work.
I'd love to see some other angles of the double eagle pipe as well.

If it wasn't for the fact that you've immedietly packed and smoked it I'd have to say you were a tad bit eccentric but since you are obviously someone who had an intense artistic vision that was realized, I can only admire the pipe and it's new owner. What a beautiful work of functional art! I'd also love to see some more photos and I'm curious as to what it weighs. Thanks for sharing your stunning pipe.

I will reiterate that it's great to be on this forum with so many pipe enthusiasts.

To answer your questions

Philm68, the pipe is waxed. It's a bit darker than the photo's. I lit it up to show off the detail.

Tslex, the carver is an Albanian pipe maker. I found his work while browsing pipes on Ebay. Here is a link to his ebay page

Settersbrace, I appreciate your sentiment & I may well be eccentric, lol. The pipe weighs 5.7oz and I've added a few more photos. You can check it out on my facebook page. the album is titled Russian Crest Pipe [url=https://www.facebook.com/nick.greene.9849/media_set?set=a.647011882050722.1073741827.100002257497038&type=1]

Cosmicfolklore, spotlights are my next purchase, lol.

Thanks Jason. Here's a picture to give you an idea of the size in relation to my other pipes. It's very comfortable to smoke. More so than than I thought it would be when I first saw the block of briar it was going to be carved from. (btw, The one on the right is a Ben Wade Freehand.)

I've seen a lot of carved figural pipes, but this one is just amazing! Definitely one of a kind! A hundred years from now one of my great grandchildren will probably be viewing it in a museum.

Tuold, if they do, they'll also be seeing my body right there with the pipe. I intend to be buried with it so it can make the journey to the afterlife with me, lmao.

What a concept -- meerschaum level carving in briar. The maker has a classic dragon claw/egg pipe on offer. Seen it hundreds of time as a meer, never as a briar.
(And Nick is a Dolphins fan.)
