Do the 7 oz. Half & Half cans stay sealed for the long haul (decades), or is it best to crack them and transfer to other storage means? I just bought a few cans, but I’ve zero experience with them.

In my experience they're good to go. They essentially use the same construction as all of the other Seattle Pipe Club, Sutliff Private Stock, etc. cans. Yes, they're mainly constructed of cardboard, but the cardboard is lined with a foil/mylar layer that acts as a very efficient oxygen/moisture barrier. Same tech as with the old Middleton's pouches. They were just a pouch, yes, but the foil lining made them far superior to the current plastic pouches used today. I have old half & half in these pouches my dad bought from the 70's/80's and they are still supple as new.
Would transferring them to a mason jar hurt? No.. but it is overkill in my experience.

Of course this assumes in both cases that the seal remains undisturbed ^
I was just wondering this the other day. I have 8 12oz cans of Half & Half and was trying to figure out how many of the big Ball jars I'd need to fit it all. I came to the conclusion that Nookers already stated above - unless the pop top seal is broken, they'll most likely be fine until I open them. I'd rather save some money on jars and take the risk.
Much obliged for the input! I’m more than happy to leave them in cans for a while if folks have had good luck with them. But I do have heavy duty Mylar as a backup, just in case.

My tub of Granger has been in the cupboard for 4-5 years. I opened it when I bought it. Still moist. Just need its original lib closed tight. I don't think Half&Half won't be much different.
