Title says it all. This week we are a Level 3 fire zone against the hills here in Orange County; mandatory evacuation with police knocking on doors and announcing evacuation orders over loudspeakers. I packed loads of McClelland and Esoterica and got it to safety at my mother-in-law’s house. Most of my collection is still there but I got what I could. Fire looks well over the mountain now, so all should be good.

Prayers and luck sent your way.
That is a stress that is exhausting.

I had to do this once a couple of years ago in Oregon. I made many trips and realized I have too much to acco.

Good luck to you and be safe. It can all be re accumulated.

Glad to hear you're okay

It was ridiculously smokey here in Vegas earlier this week. Hoping for the best for everyone affected.

Happy to hear that the situation is improving. Is this the Airport fire?

Sorry to hear that. I am glad it sounds like your home will be ok. Having to leave your home like that not knowing if you will be able to go back and find it livable is truly a traumatizing experience.

That happened to me last year and my mom two years before that. I had more time to prepare though and I packed up nearly all my pipes and all my tobacco after my family, pets, photos and sentimental and irreplaceable belongings were taken care of.

Hope everyone avoids the fires.

I decided long ago that if our house ever caught on fire, first I would get my wife out, second I would save our 2 cats and third I would grab my pipes and run. On second thought, it might not be in that order.... puffy

Good luck to you. Keep the stash safe.

Luckily, I have never been at our cabin when we've gotten evacuation notices from the NC fires. And, it seems to leave our side of the mountain unburned.
Also, we are never at our place on the beach when hurricanes hit, but we get plenty of warning for those.
