I have been smoking a pipe daily for over 3 months now and today is the first time that I have experienced gurgle.

It really surprised me cause I expected something like this to happen much earlier in my piping career.

The culprit was an old Custombilt semi-bent bulldog type loaded with some pretty moist Dunhill Flake.

Normally I smoke one bowl in a pipe and then rest it at least a day but this was the second bowl today out of this pipe.

I guess all these little things added up to a good bit of moisture buildup.

A pipe cleaner did the trick and got rid of the gunk.

This does give me a new found respect for resting my pipes.

I am sure this would of happened sooner if I smoked aromatics more often but I only smoke them maybe once a week.

Smoke slower, draw with less intensity, and, if that's not enough, run a pipe cleaner down there one or two times. That ought to do it.
