I collect both, but I buy more tobacco. As others have said tobacco prices will keep going up so I want to have a as much as possible. I do enjoy looking at the lines and shapes of pipes.

If I had to give up pipes or tobaccos, it would be an easy choice for me. I'd still have pipes even if I couldn't smoke them.

Pipes for the eye and hand, tobacco for the heart, heh heh. A financial advisor recommended that to reduce your purchasing expenditures, you should reduce your temptation. Throw the catalogs away unopened. Avoid eBay. Don't go to the grocery on an empty stomach, things like that. Psychology tells us that as we reach midlife, a person tends to seek out experiences rather than survival needs. Perhaps if someone built a pipe museum and tobacco bar.....
