That's an '83 Land Rover 110 RHD 200Tdi. Prior to my stewardship, going on 12 years now, a previous owner had it rebuilt on a galvanized chassis. I had the V8 swapped for a used 200Tdi and ran that for 5 years then rebuilt from a Turner shortblock, gasflowed head, turbo, injection pump, yada yada, we know each other REALLY well. Perched on top is a 1961 Sauer & Sohn 12ga 2 3/4 with both barrels extra full choke.
Swapped the transfer case for a bit higher gearing and highway speeds to get out here :

The best book series on hunting birds over dogs was written by the late George Bird Evans of Bruceton Mills, WV. His line of Old Hemlock setters is legendary.

That’s a beauty rig right there with some nice care given it. Ours is a ‘63 2A 88” and does not do highways. I think I follow you on Insta, great pictures thank you!

2A 88, The Land Rover icon! Nice! Once into the Midwest, where travel becomes less a matter of combat, with an easy ability to create follow room (That space does NOT exist on E coast highways), the going is pleasant if loud. My concern is the braking distance!

I do not see a dog in the photos - what are you hunting over?

I hunt pheasant and have my trusty Llewellin Setter sitting next to me in the recliner. Clearly we are both prepping for the upcoming season.

Pipedreamin - dogs ate a highly personal decision, but I could not recommend Llewellyn Setters more highly. Great hunting dogs and equally as good in the house. If interested looking Hillcrest Setters or Berg Bros. for two good options.

i find it as much or possibly more enjoyable watch8ng a good dog work.

A good friend has a one year old male out of Berg Brothers and he is coming along really well.
