im in. i think smooth would be cool, and probably a bit cheaper. i would go for anything from straight to 1/2 bent. I'm more of a billiard guy, but would order no matter what.

So lets establish a price range that all of us can agree upon and then let Storient come up with some options that reflect that price range. I would be happy to part with $100.00 for such a pipe.

100 is pretty cheap for a storient meer but still out of my price range right now. I will have a storient one day!

$100 would be do-able, but some advance notice would be nice. the more time the better on something like this

count me in as potentially interested. i'd prefer a smooth finish. partial to cherrywood, prince, poker (17, 4, 16). outside of those i prefer 1/4 or 1/2 bents.
and for martiniman, i'm the smartest, so there's no need to start an argument on that point.

I'd be interested in 39, 40, or 43.... price range around 100 or so....

Oh, I would be in depending on the shape. I want to order one of those Stanwell M11 clones, myself. Otherwise, a bent bulldog, poker, or cherrywood style would be my vote.

In the past I have bought things in mass..... Like tee shirts. I was the head master of the Old Bastards of Okinawa, Japan around '82. Yes, we had tee shirts. Regardless of what we did (it was drinking whiskey) we got those shirts in mass because they were printed by machine.

As mush as I like storient and what he does, I don't believe a mass production can be done at a group rate. These things are hand made..... every one of them. Now, storient may come right back and tell me I'm full of it, and I'd welcome that!!!!
I know that machine made things, like tooth picks can be bought with a lesser price in mass quantities.... But what about Meerschaum Pipes..... I have the greatest respect for stoirent pipes, but lets see..... It all remains to be seen.
(I would never, ever wear a tee shirt now)

Once I have an idea how many are interested I will contact the supplier and ask for a quote based on that quantity and at same time pick the most popular shape. Then I'll post the price and shape. At this point we cannot expect a manufacturer to quote a price on an unknown quantity. I will wait until Tuesday to count up the possible orders.....cheers
@topdog....ye of little faith.....be patient guys we will work something out. :puffy:

I would possibly be interested but 100.00 would be my limit too. Sounds like we could get it narrowed down to a smooth bent shape so far.

I have to say TopD makes a really good point. To underscore it, it should be pointed out that the Storient meers on SPC are all just under $100. So I'm not sure what is to be gained here. Everyone could order whichever shape they prefer from SPC just as easily, could they not?

I am certainly tempted also, I've been wanting to add a meerschaum to my collection.
I can't commit even at $100 but I think the idea is great.

I would definitely be interested as well, hard to commit before a price or style is chosen though.

I like the ideal of the date and maybe a small logo! Kind of makes it a limited edition pipe :P looks like this might actually happen!
