Hello from Spokane by way of Illinois! Currently, a grad student in Washington and find that a pipe, (post-class and patients), is the perfect way to decompress. I have a predictable weakness for billiards and have most of my pipes made by a guy in Minnesota (does an unreal job).

Thanks,
Danny

I have opinions about how my educational and vocational choices were presented to me. Ultimately, I am the one who made them, however.

I'm just glad I got out with minimal debt, long since paid off, before I walked away from academia and became a furniture maker.

I was lucky enough to have the GI bill. I have worked in both fields of my educations but know I have moved on to the engineering field with no degree but 15 years of experience

We're getting further and further away from welcoming TaooPu into our fold, but that's probably the most appropriate greeting/warning we can produce.

I am in a machinist training program now. In the first week of classes, without anyone having made anything yet, an advisor came in to tell us there is a state program to turn this vocational training into a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Education vs experience is a tricky and very individual thing.

Billiards are the best sort of weakness. Welcome aboard from a native of Illinois, and longtime resident of central North Carolina. Sounds like you are in training in a medical profession. I spent most of my adult career as support writing and editing staff at the U.S. National Institutes of Health.

Welcome from the Central Coast of California! Ask any question, make any observation….

You can put your location in your Profile—(please!—because people will forget!) and which will save questions in the future as to where you live when you later mention local stores, weather, tobacco prices, availability, regulations, location of photos, etc., etc..

Under your avatar, (top right, left most of three symbols) you choose "Account Details", which brings up "My Account". "My Location" is halfway down. Whatever you're comfortable with- town, city, county, state.

Welcome from Michigan!

Okay, I'm a sucker for cool pipes made by dedicated artisans. Who's your guy? Where can I see his stuff?
