Hi everyone! Should have made this post a few weeks back before posting here and there.

I'm from Washington DC. Technically living in Virginia, right now. 40 years old. Software engineer by trade.

Grew up in DC. Went to school in Richmond, VA which is where and when I started smoking a pipe (around 2002). Wandered into a an Old Virginia Tobacco Co shop near my house. Was warmly welcomed by the crew of old guys hanging out there. Went home with a basket pipe and a tin of Early Morning Pipe.

Had to give it up around 2006 when I decided I had to steer clear of -all- tobacco in order to finally quit cigs (smoked Marlboro Reds). Took a few tries, but I finally got it.

After a decade of not smoking cigs, and many years past the cravings, I decided I wanted to pick up the pipe again. Started around Jan of this year.

Upon returning I was, of course, very sad to see McClelland gone. Frog Morton, Virginia Woods, and those yearly Christmas Cheers were some of my favorites. But very happy to find that some incredible blends and blenders have appeared while I was gone.

Currently enjoying everything I've had from WCC and most things I've had from KBV. Verge Engine Overdrive is one of my favorites right now.

Still smoking Early Morning Pipe, while it's not one of my favorite blends, I do enjoy it, and it will forever remind me of that first pipe I ever had.

Thanks for reading, see you around!

Welcome! I spent 4 years at Ft Myer with The Old Guard! I bought my 1st pipe from Kramer's in MD back in 1991, I think.

Welcome from Fresno, California. I’m glad to hear you picked up the hobby again. Every one person smoking a pipe, is one more caring on the dying tradition.
