Hi everybody, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and currently been living in Australia for 2 years.
I smoked pipe for a short time in Buenos Aires when I was much younger (24 years old approx) and now I'm keen to come back to this beautiful hobby.
I have all my pipes and tools in my country, so I'll have the pleasure to buy myself a new pipe and new blends :);)
I'm dismayed by the tobacco laws in here, so any tips on best place to buy pipes or tobaccos from Australia will be greatly appreciated (you can PM me if that's better).
Thank you for reading and wish me luck on my new pipe journey

Welcome to this great website, it’s a treasure-trove of pipe smoking information and there are a good number of Antipodean pipers here. I used to live in Sydney myself; the current costs for tobacco there are ridiculous. If you can get a cheap flight, it would probably be cheaper to fly to Fiji, buy a couple of tins in the duty-free shop, smoke it there, and fly back than to buy the same couple of tins in Australia. It’s astounding really. But you can still read about the great tobacco blends here for free. Good luck to you!

Hi Joe,
It definitely is cheaper to fly to Fiji than buying tobacco in Australia 😅
I hope the situation gets better, cannot understand how Aussies let these greedy bureaucrats shear them with taxes like this, but not for nothing the Australian Government is called "The Nanny State" in this part of the world.
Apart from that, I'm loving this forum already, lots of good advice and interesting information.
Cheers!
