Hey everyone! I'm Rookie, just a hard working father, son, brother, husband, and veteran from Baltimore. I've been smoking a pipe now for almost a year. That's pretty close to knowing what I'm doing.
So far, I very much like OTC burley blends the best. Virginias, I'll wait until my cellar has some more age on it to see for sure. There's definitely a time and place for English (Latakia) blends. And I'm slowly warming up to aromatics. Pipes, I've been doing good battling PAD.

That's about all I can think of. Anything else, I'm pretty much an open book. I look forward to new friends here!

Boatme99, that's a lovely part of the state. Lots of lovely small towns and natural beauty to loose yourself. But the advantage of being about an hour from Philly or hour and a half from DC for necessities.

Kcghost, I've spent a little bit of time out in your neck of Kansas while stationed at Ft. Riley. Gorgeous city! It reminded me and Mrs. Rookie of Europe with all its fountains.

I've spent some time in Maryland, mostly Bethesda at the main campus of the National Institutes of Health, on day trips from their southerly campus in Research Triangle Park, N.C. I spent a few days in Baltimore working on an article about health monitoring of ship breakers and the environmental effects of asbestos in dismantling ships on these workers.
