A new pipe smoker here from Ireland. I've been devouring the forum for a month or two now so thank you all for the insightful comments and discussion.

I'd quit smoking weed a few years back but was looking for something to fulfil the ritual of it, a foray into shisha was good and I'll still go there but shisha doesn't really present the Lunting opportunities that pipe smoking does.

Yes, beautiful country. We stay closer to Ennis, where my wife's family is from. Haven't been to Rosocommon but I know it from the show Moone Boy. Where do you buy pipe tobacco? I find it hard to get anything but the occasional Peterson tin, Condor, Special Virginia, at the newsagents. Though I was lucky to find Velvan and Mick McQuaid plugs at Powell's music shop in Galway.

Welcome from London! I was in Ireland a month ago, 3 days in Dublin, 3 days in Doolin (I play a bit of whistle so had to go to the home of Micho Russell) and then 2 days in Galway (where I found a couple of interesting pipes including a Loewe, but had already spent all my money in Dublin!).

I don't think I'll ever get over the pints in the Gravediggers in Dublin or Taaffes in Galway...

It's hard to get in most places here. Priced very high as well due to taxes so I get mine when I travel to the continent.
