@pentangle : thank you, im Indonesian haha
@baronsamedi : yeah, at first I was just drooling around seeing the awesome pipe pics and the yummy tobacco reviews here, but slowly i get those pipes above and managed to taste quality tobacco (MacBaren Burley, Tambolaka, Erinmore Mixture and Flake) so yeah, finally i decided to join up.
Funny to hear you say about Indonesia because i happened to read similar articles bout that. During the 1970- and 80 plenty expats were assigned to work here, and yeah, they decided to stay here for the rest of their lives. (Wondering perhaps the estate pipes were theirs ? left for garage sale ?)
@uberam3rica : hi! yeah, too bad the restriction on clove cigs was put into action, otherwise I would recommend you to try out DjiSamSoe 234. Its damn good, though im not a cig smoker, i do enjoy it occasionally (especially when it rains, accompanied by thick black coffee. Mmmm)
@Spartan : it was tough initially, i end up wrapping alcohol dipped tissue with a thin wire.
Scrub-scrub-scrub, eeewww, dip another tissue in alcohol, wrap-wrap-wrap, scrub-scrub-scrub...
Thankfully, I now had steady supplies of pipe cleaners from local tobacco supplier which i befriended.
Pipe tobacco supplies are kinda hard to find here.
Just to gave u guys an idea, pipe tobacco readily available was Borkum Riff. Seriously. 8O
Pipes ? available at luxury hotels with outrageous prices and limited quantity.
Several amazing estate pipes such were mine above are available, but yeah, its a game of luck.
Luckily, we sort of having a resurgence in pipe smoking in Indonesia as a national-wide pipe club was established, amongst its member, a local tobacco blender came up with several awesome blends with a local carver started to produce consistent good quality pipes.
Wow, so happy with the response and greetings i received. You guys rocks!
