Hi all,

New pipe smoker here from Las Vegas! I enjoyed cigars about 15 or so years back, but grew weary of their epic length, their sometimes overpowering intensity, and the high expense. Ever since I smelled the fragrant smoke from my grade school janitor's pipe, they have always intrigued me. So I thought I'd give it a go.

I've only smoked a couple of bowls in my pipe thus far, but I'm learning more every time and working to refine my technique. I must have done something right the last time, because I was so relaxed afterwards that it felt as if I had taken some kind of tranquilizer!

Welcome to the forum, from Southern California. There are some Vegas-based members here who should greet you warmly...errr, if they're not too preoccupied mourning the Golden Knights' playoff exit by drowning their sorrows in alcohol, that is... ?
Ha ha, very true!

On that note, I'd be interested to know of any local pipe club meetings around Vegas. I saw one that had a FB page, but no info as to the meeting frequency/location (plus I'm not on FB).

yay I am not the only person not wading into the cesspit of FB. I got my reasons and I am sure you got yours. But either way it's nice to not be the only one.

'Vegas was always a business trip aspiration of mine. Since I don't gamble, it isn't a vacation destination, but I wanted to behold the spectacle and take advantage of the low cost breakfast buffet before tending to my business-business. I think there are probably good things to see and do off the strip, but I don't think the casino clientele know about that. Welcome aboard from central North Carolina. This place is a wealth of pipe lore, from history to repairs to almost anything pipe and pipe tobacco related.

I’m with you both - never had an account and never will
oh there are some great things about the place. And some terrible and somethings are both at the same time. Though I've read some of the stupidest things from some of the stupidest people there. People where you go look the best thing you can do for your cause is to shut up. You're not helping.
