Damn good bbq you have there! I also seem to remember a really good farmers market where we loaded up on frozen field peas one year. Greetings from a bit further south in Sugar Land!

Definitely great BBQ in town. The longer I live in Texas, though, the more I'm convinced that the very best barbecue comes out of people's backyards, from old family recipes and years of tinkering and experimenting. Folks are pretty serious about it here, and very into their craft. I think of it as small-batch barbecue.

I've been here nearly ten years now (moved from CT) and have enjoyed every minute. :)

As I said to the last new member from central Texas, that means you have about four hundred miles of Texas in every direction. Welcome aboard from central North Carolina.

You are not mistaken. I moved here from Connecticut about 15 years ago. I joke that I drive farther to go to lunch these days than I would to get to another state back then. Say what you will about Texas, but there's certainly a lot of it.

Not sure where you're at in central NC, but I spent a wonderful few years living in the town of Mt. Airy in the Piedmont. Andy Griffith's birthplace and the real-life inspiration for the town of Mayberry (at least if you believe the town's marketing).

Just wanted to say hi from the little town of Lockhart in central Texas. I'm new here, but have been smoking pipes since my mid-teens. Enjoying a bit of GL Pease Westminster in a little Dunhill Group 1 Bruyere Liverpool today.

Look forward to meeting everyone here and emerging from lurker status. :)

Best regards,
