Been lurking a bit. Figured I should make one of these. I've been an off and on pipe smoker for a few years now, occasionally stopping at a pipe shop while traveling for whatever was recommended. Usually a house blended aromatic (Milan Tobacconist's Reflections will always have a special place in my chest muscle.)

I've kind of caught the bug in the past few months and started taking the hobby more seriously. Partial to cobs, though I own a couple decent briars (A Peterson system and a Ben Wade freehand). Cobs fit me better though, so I have a stable of the more premium MMs.

A few months ago, I kind of had this thought that I'd get back into the hobby (lifestyle?), and maybe just pick one good blend to stock up on. I've since filled a few drawers with mason jars and probably won't be slowing down soon (assuming the wife doesn't find out how much I'm spending).

Pretty sure I'm a Virginia guy (I am a native son of NC after all), my favorites so far being Orlik Golden Slices and Hal O' the Wynd. But I've liked several English blends, Baker Street being my favorite. I recently tried Star of the East, and found that I must be a Lat guy, too.

I'm an Orthodox Christian, though a rather poor one, a husband, father and most recently a grandfather. Unabashedly Southern. I'm also a bass fisherman who occasionally goes after trout.

This is probably more than you needed to know about me, so I'll hit the post thread button now.
Welcome I was invited to Orthadox mass when I visited Tennessee. I'm Episcopalian so liturgical service.

Between the Heart of Alabama and Hot Springs NC

I think that one of the biggest misconceptions of pipe smoking is that you have to pick a blend type and stick to it. But, this isn't football, and it is always much more fun to explore the huge plethora of blends out there.

My main home is in Alabama, but we also have places in NC and FL. Our NC place is just outside Hot Springs.

Welcome to the forum.
