I have always had positive experiences dealing with the approved site sponsors here (several pipes from mkelaw pipes before they merged into MBSD, more purchases than I can count from smokingpipes.com, etc.). Most recently I had my first dealing with Blue Room Briars, picking up a nice Eric Klodt estate author with a gnarly sandblast finish that I couldn't get out of my head. I required some special shipping arrangements for the purchase, and Scott (one of the co-owners of Blue Room) couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. It was clear from my phone conversation with him that he genuinely values his customers. Just unboxed my new beauty yesterday, and couldn't be happier with it. Am looking forward to doing more business with Blue Room Briars in the future!

Wow, great shape, I wasn't familiar with that artisan, good choice! It looks like his website is no longer up.
Thanks, Al. I love the author shape, and am a sucker for a craggy sandblast! From what I can find out about the artisan he is a musician in Nashville, TN who has not made any new pipes in a few years but may be starting up again soon...

Great pipe, I'm a sucker for an author myself!

Laughing because of the font everytime someone types "Al" I also think "AI" -- and if someone doesn't get that, it validates my confusion!

Maybe he should give in and just change his name to "Hal". ;)

That IS a gnarly blast! Great pipe!
Thanks -- the picture I posted really doesn't do the blast justice. It shows both growth rings and straight grain, and the coloring varies between deep red to dark chocolate depending on how the light hits it. Smokes good too! :)

Very nice piece! Jesse and I have just started discussing my next commission from him. He and Scott are both really great guys who go out of their way to take care of the customer!

I didn't get to talk to Jesse, but expect he is just as customer-focused as Scott. Jesse definitely makes some nice pipes. In fact, here is a link to another estate sandblast author Jesse made that had me drooling (sold to some other lucky buyer a while ago): Jesse Jones Sandblast Author
