@Grangerous have you smoked any VaPer blends?
Just this week dipped into my Acadian Perique. It’s not my cup of tea. I have MacBaren Virginia #1 jarred that I mix at times. Don’t care for it by itself.

I’ve had FVF years ago. I just don’t get Va blends. The “baked bread” thing? I do get some initial citrus but that’s not a flavor I desire. I like a naturally nutty Burley.

Got ya! ?

Personally for me when I tried Granger, I didn’t notice nutty, just a straight tabac flavor, slightly fruit. Hmm

But I am keeping my ounce of Granger, let you know next time I smoke some, if I get any other flavors out of it.

Burleys, for me, fall into two camps, nutty and cocoa (Edgeworth, PA, Norwood, BLB) or nutty and fruity.... like Granger. I’ve grown to like that Berry note and have migrated away from the cocoa blends. (I was a Norwood nut and I still have a dozen tins from 2010-2011)

Granger, blown thru the nose, for me, has a berry note. It’s very subtle but always there. I never have to “look for it” I can taste it now.

Granger’s side-stream is Nutty Burley to me. But it’s room note is Fruity like it’s tin note. When I enter my car or garage, it’s old time Pipey and Pleasant. And I get in taste what I get from its tin note.

Now that’s just me. I know others are either shaking their heads in agreement sayin yeah, nailed it. Or in disagreement. He’s nuts.

Either way, I’ve not found a blend I enjoy more.

I've never heard of Norwood, when was it on the market?

The first pouch I bought was nice, only smoked two bowls, but tasted as it should.

The second pouch, could only stand one bowl, was flat, and a slight herbal/grassy bitter flavor going on.

So the consistency for me, from pouch to pouch, bought at different times, different places, wasn’t working. All I can think of is the tabac sitting in these pouches over a period of time as the problem.

I’ve had similar experiences with Sir Walter Regular pouches. In fact the first pouch of it i ever had I was atrocious. I bought another pouch of it like a year later and it was a completely different experience. It was smooth, nutty, mellow, and satisfying. The first pouch’s seal had clearly been compromised. Fast forward to today and it’s far and away my favorite tobacco. Try one of the 7oz tubs if you can. You can get em on sale for under $20.
