I thought it was funny, the first time I ordered some Granger from VW Smokeshop, and an order of SWR from SPC, both orders too at different dates, they both decide to show up today.

Oh @Grangerous where are you? LOL :ROFLMAO:

I haven’t smoked it yet, but oh bouy, does it smell yummy! I smell them blueberries too! ?

I will be lighting a bowl tonight, and return with a smoke report! ?

Burely, it’s what’s for dinner tonight!

LOL this is funny. I’m eating blueberries and have some Granger loaded and been sniffing it. I don’t smell blueberries but then again I don’t smell all the crazy things pseudo/wannabe cigar aficionados smell in cigars. Ending with “I like Granger a lot blueberries or not..l LOL

Right here I need to do my song and dance for SWR Aromatic, burley based, Virginia as a condiment, and flavored with three liqueurs, which is pretty high flown for a codger blend. It's hard to beat Granger for getting down to basics, but if you are feeling a little more elevated, SWRA is good in the rotation.

I gotta add that to the list, I trust your burley taste buds.

I’ve smoked SWR before, I’ve only smoked one bowl of Granger, so at the moment with only one bowl of Granger under the belt, LOL, I’d have to say for the moment, they both have their merits.

But let me smoke more between them and report back Sir!

Carry on, Soldier. If the Army wanted your opinion they would’ve issued you one.

Me on the other hand, I wanna know!

Sip it. It’s charms will find you.

Well, I smoked an entire bowl of SWR in a MM Dagner Cob, and didn’t enjoy it.

I’m beginning to wonder if the tabac sitting in these SWR plastic pouches really holds up to time... hmm

I’ve had two different pouches, at different times, bought from two different places, and taste was different.

I’m not liking this SWR, not even going to bother trying another bowl, in the trash the last one went, and this one too.

My vote for now is on Granger for a Burley, but going to need to try some other Codger Burley blends out there too.

SWR was actually pretty tasty when I tried it. The consistency and manifestation of the flavor were different than I expected but rather impressive.

The first pouch I bought was nice, only smoked two bowls, but tasted as it should.

The second pouch, could only stand one bowl, was flat, and a slight herbal/grassy bitter flavor going on.

So the consistency for me, from pouch to pouch, bought at different times, different places, wasn’t working. All I can think of is the tabac sitting in these pouches over a period of time as the problem.

Never tried the pouch and have always been satisfied with the tub. For old school codgers I smoke SWR, SWRA, EGR and Granger. I like them all.

I bought a pouch, myself. Reading this, I am minded to buy a tub next time if possible. Pouches usually aren't great at sealing in flavor but I didn't want to buy a large amount.

Just recently with some nicer pipes I bought, I’ve come to enjoy C&D Carolina Red Flake, more than both of these, so between this, and some really nice VaPers that are out there, when I want to smoke something more straight as a blend, I’ll reach for these instead.

I need to give Carter Hall and Prince Albert a go next time.

Personally for me, I’ll just keep a Burely around as a means for smoking Ghosts out when the need arises, since I don’t dedicate pipes to blends. ? ;)

I use to smoke Mac Baren, today I like smoking from smaller hand crafted blenders.

To me it’s like buying a pipe from either a factory, or buying from a carver that is a one person business.

I was a longtime MacBarren fan. Burley London Blend, Norwood, Harmony, Golden Extra, Mixture et al. But you know what? Theyre hotter burning blends and, for me, less flavorful.

Coming home, the world’s best tobacco crops are grown right here in good old USA.

Classic American OTC’s achieved their wide distributom for one reason, they’re good.

Convince me otherwise.

As American, for me at present, it would be C&D and G.L. Pease.

Now, for people who are American, doing blending, I’d add to the list at present; KBV, Watch City, The County Squire and L.J. Peretti.

These are who come to mind the most, at present.

The future, hmmm LOL ?
