Hello all, i wanted to know people's experiences with SPC Grand Croupier "Jack Pot" which is their aromatic overstock. I know it'll change with each batch but for those who get it *regularly* how has it been? I really like the price too. Here's part of the description:

"The secret is combining all the random sorts of excess batches from an artisanal blender: an all-sorts, if you will, albeit an all-sorts composed entirely of quality components."

I've got 10 pounds of their Double Down. It's all made with good tobacco albeit scraps from blending but at less than $20/pound, I would say it's worth the gamble.?
I've tried all three of the Grand Croupier blends, and liked them all, I've smoked and ordered the most of the Boneyard English, it is great with big chunks of flakes and kakes. I just ordered another couple ounces of the Double Down, not sure if it's the same or similar all the time but what I got last time was a strong musty-smelling burley with a little Virginia and maybe a bit of Perique, it gave me a strong nic-hit.

This is encouraging. Thanks.

I have a bunch of Double Down too, the batch I got is solid.
I've only bought it once, but I liked it, it was a nice tobacco forward, dry, not goopy, aro blend. Looked and tasted like a good VaBur blend with a mild topping of maple and something vaguely reminiscent of Christmas.

Those kind of things scare me. I have looked into the best of the rest bulk due to the price. But being a Burley only smoker, I probably wouldn't like any of it.

I have a OZ of Jackpot from a while ago and to be honest its nothing special IMO. On the other hand was blown away by the Best Of The Rest Aromatic LB recently. Has a carmel flavor and is a single blend rather than a "crazy George" or random scraps. For the price it may be worth checking out but the BOTR FAR surpassed any expectations by miles.

Since my last post I have picked up a pound each of Double Down as well as Boneyard. Just got done with a bowl of Double Down and it has mellowed out a bit being jarred for a few months. Both of these are nice QUALITY inexpensive blends and have no regrets. DD is a nice mellow smoke with a slight natural sweetness, nothing mind blowing but a decent Vabur. Boneyard is a Latakia based English blend with chunks and bits of flakes with very little shake in either LB. Since the weather has been getting colder I have been breaking out the English blends finding them perfect for this time of year. If you get a chance to try either of these I highly recommend getting some to cellar:)
