Got to Meet Pipe Maker Jody Davis

One of the highlights of the Mule Town Pipe show was meeting Jody Davis. Jody is a high end pipe maker but also a musician with The Newsboys which is a band that I have followed since college. He is super down to earth and I really enjoyed hanging out with him a little and chatting. Here is a pic of us.

Very cool. He's one of the few American pipe makers I would like to buy a pipe from. But since they are so expensive, for me that would involve renting a motel room, finding some chloroform, kidnapping someone, filling the tub with ice, taking an at home surgery course to learn how to cut out their kidney safely and then trying to find someone to buy it. Moral issues aside, it just seemed like a lot of trouble.

Yeah his pipes are expensive but his craftsmanship and attention to detail is first rate. I can’t afford his pipes either but it was still cool to just hang out, smoke a pipe, and chat. That’s one of the things I love about pipe shows.
