Got some pipe cleaners and man it was dirty. Is it not al to have the pipe smell musky or almost sour a few hours after smoking it? Is it just a sign of a cheap pipe?

i wouldnt worry about the smell. the bowl couldve had some sort of coating on it to assist with break. as the pipe rests the smell will go away. if you want to smoke frequently and you can afford it i would suggest getting another pipe.

Ok good, my wife didn't like the smell of the pipe after I smoked it and made me put in the float not the china cabinet lol. Any ideas on how I could get the smell out of it so I can display it. I can't wait till next paycheck., I will get another pipe and a verity of tobaccos.

Welcome! I run a cleaner thru each of my smoked pipes, than wad up a paper towel and clean out the bowl. That cuts down on the smell. My smoking stand/rack is in our dining room. Stinky pipes get a big thumbs down from Mrs. Jones...
