I have never understood these racks with a hole on the top.. most pipes don't even fit!View attachment 20800
From Flea-bay. 24 slots. Works ok, I need to take the stems off really bent pipes to get em in there then reassemble
Thats a great Idea... I think Ill do that.I bet getting those wardens out of there is a biatch. It looks cool though. You could open those holes up with a copping saw and a little sandpaper. That is, if the closed holes bother you.
I agree with Brobs; why do they make them like that?
Thems for Aros... I dont smoke a ton of ArosYeah, I would send the cobs to the back too: they should be ashamed!
that actually is a great idea @cosmicfolklore . you could probably cut straight across the holes and leave a 1/2 circle for the stem rest.Thats a great Idea... I think Ill do that.
I assumed that such racks where more intended for shops to keep away idle sight seers.I have never understood these racks with a hole on the top.. most pipes don't even fit!
I have a couple in the basement.
but don't you have to pick up the whole rack to do it?All the straight stem pipes go right in and out.. its the bent ones that are a challenge
Nope... its on a bookcase so I slide it over to edge... Imma do the surgery that Cosmic suggested and then it should be solid for all pipesbut don't you have to pick up the whole rack to do it?
That's thinking outside the box. Never heard that term (tavern style) before. Is there a story that goes along with it? I think even this style would benefit from a more ample hole on the upper level to better accommodate different style pipes. The other option is to use them “Tavern” style with the stems down. I’ve made a couple that way for clays and estates waiting on restoration.
