I have been told (by one vendor)Ashtons, regardless of manufacturing year are highly collectible pipes and eventually are becoming comparable to Dunhills in their resale value, this ad is lively proof of that fact

@paulie66scandinavian did this vendor, perhaps, have an Ashton “Special Grain” for sale for $43,000? ? I have 8 Ashton’s, all of which are damn fine pipes, but they just don’t command Dunhill prices... which is a large reason as to why I started collecting them. They are every bit as nice, in terms of quality and finish, but are affordable enough to be an “Everyman” or “Blue Collar” pipe. I think they should be priced higher on most pipes, but I don’t see them commanding $500+ unless Jimmy Craig kicks the bucket and they develop a cult following.

Maybe he’d accept an interesting trade. Perhaps a tee shirt formerly worn by Anthony Quinn or a Le Baron Jon Voight used to own.
