It's definitely not needed for thin flakes like Peterson and Stokkebye, but for the thicker GH and SG flakes it really works the trick. If you think about it, the grinder is designed to process an incredible sticky bud into smokeable condition.I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this grinder thing, probably because my only familiarity with those kingtop contraptions is from friends who are into the "other leaf" using it to absolutely pulverize things into a fine dust, and that sounds like an awful way to smoke tobacco.
Can you take a couple photos of what your tobacco looks like after running it through your grinder? I feel like this will help me conceptualize all this, haha
I don't know if I said it but cube cut seems to work the easiest and most flavorful with the GH flakes. Right out of the package too. I would have incorrectly thought rubbing it out finer would work better.
Yeah, that 1792 wasn't dried at all. Just cubed and loaded.I don't know if I said it but cube cut seems to work the easiest and most flavorful with the GH flakes. Right out of the package too. I would have incorrectly thought rubbing it out finer would work better.
I've only tried Ennerdale Flake but I was pretty upset that I didn't try cube cutting it until the last two flakes. Basically got about the same number of relights I'd expect from a dry ribbon cut. And zero loss of flavor. If I rubbed it out and let it dry it smoke fine too but the scent and flavors where slightly more subdued. And cube cut doesn't burn much faster then fold and stuff either.Yeah, that 1792 wasn't dried at all. Just cubed and loaded.
