Looks soft on my computer so I don't know if it will handle much manipulation. But a crop is certainly called for it possible. The post needs to go and maybe half the tree. The haze makes the shot intriguing. Half the tree or, even a bit less would make a great border.

Too many rules!
Post yer pix and let the chips fall as they may. I only draw the line at stealing and/or altering someone else's work. No kewl, or legal.

It's my choice, but I don't offer any critique unless asked to. I do this stuff for a living, and I have distinct, informed opinions, but I also have no illusions that anyone cares what I think about their work, or that my opinions are meaningful to them.

That said, get closer!

Dan, I value your opinions on many things.

Closer? Hell yeah! But I was seeing if I could salvage something decent from an off hand snap with a now old iPhone from a golf cart.

Ack! A drive by shooting!

When I worked at a newspaper, I was walking past the light table one day and overheard an editor scolding one of the prima donna shooters "I know you don't like shooting real estate, but could you try to keep the rear view mirror out of your pictures?"

Larger pixels mean more information/detail available for the software, dependent on format. JPegs are severely in the amount of information contained in the file and so cannot be heavily manipulated. Larger pixels allow for bigger enlargements, more serious cropping, post-shooting manipulation and such. Which is why larger format cameras, shooting "raw" are still preferred by commercial shooters. Those pixels, no matter their size, still must be handled by software and phone cameras have made great strides in recent years. If scenics are your preferred subject, most any of the newer phones will give you great shots with good to great colors, able to provide good quality up to 8x10 and, often larger. Phones are, for most folk all the camera needed, even on a once in a lifetime journey.

Remember though, the ability to visualize what you want in a finished shot (the purpose) is determined between your ears. That, to me, the most important piece of "photo" equipment to develop,
