Nothing weird about it at all, soft focus, the aperture flare and such are very common in quick snap shots. Any serious amateur or pro can glance at it and see "what's going on" to use your phrase. "Different strokes for ..." immediately comes to mind.but I'll probably just start another thread about weird photography
Only idea I can come with is, too late though, a lower perspective, camera closer to the ground. Perhaps a longer lens to compress the limbs. Lots of angles to play with.any ideas?
Yeah but what band? Slipknot, Taylor Swift, New York Philharmonic? Would work for a lot of different bands, right?I love it! Would make a great album cover for the right band..................
Mine doesn't have any options for sepia or black and white anymore. It does have lots of color, contrast, and saturation options though.Better! It lost a lot of pixels, though.
I went back to the original RAW image, and was just going to "sepia" it, to coin a phrase, and crop it. Lightroom has got so sophisticated that it doesn't readily show a sepia button!
Are you meaning Lightroom? Yeah, I know I can do a custom sepia. Ugh. There are many choices under some of the options, all with names that have no meaning, no clue as to what they do.Mine doesn't have any options for sepia or black and white anymore. Just a phone photo editor. There's even a transparency adjustment. Are you meaning Lightroom? Yeah, I know I can do a custom sepia. Ugh. There are many choices under some of the options, all with names that have no meaning, no clue as to what they do.
I guess I'm confused as to what this thread is supposed to be. I thought it was for members to show their photos that they like for whatever reasons. You can like or dislike a photo and can simply say so. Now if this is suppose to be like a photography class or photography competition then yes I suppose you would expect a critique on your photo. But when a member decides that your photo is not up to snuff by their standards or industry standards and feels the need to critique in a way that in uninformed and condescending I feel is out of place. No one really knows me or my knowledge and history in photography, so to assume I need help to take better photos is insulting. Reducing my photo to a "snapshot" with flaws that anyone with a decent knowledge of photography can see what is going on is presumptuous. I know what I did to achieve that photo and no one else does, so if you don't like it simply say so, but spare me the critique. If members here want a critique they can ask for it. I don't care if someone likes or dislikes my photos, but don't attempt to tell me what I was doing or thinking.Nothing weird about it at all, soft focus, the aperture flare and such are very common in quick snap shots. I surely did not read the comment as derogatory, and regret you took it that way. You used the term "weird" for that image, and perhaps the comment was meant to soften your own critique.I guess I'm confused as to what this thread is supposed to be. Sorry, but that is all I have to say about the subject. If this is a thread whose purpose is mainly to critique photos, and not just share photos maybe one of the mods could chime in and explain.
I didn't take his comments as overly critical either. I think you might need to take a step back and then maybe reread the thread carefully. The OP said very early on that if you don't want critiques, you should say so up front.I guess I'm confused as to what this thread is supposed to be. I saw the original info about feedback. To me feedback is different than a critique. I have no problem with a response as to whether they like it or not. But if I describe a photo as weird and someone says it's not weird at all, just simple soft focus and flare such as found in snapshots, and anyone with some photo knowledge can see exactly what it is, that is you telling me that my description is wrong and you're contradicting what I say as to how I see my photo. I don't find the comments derogatory, simply disrespectful to me and my photos. It's not the first time this has happened here either, and I'm sure it's done in a well meaning way to help me take better photos. But thanks for the clarification about the rules, I'll be sure to stipulate that feedback is ok, but I don't need a critique to help me take better photos. This is just me, I'm old and cranky.I should have put that in the o.p.. So, it is now edited to read:
• Only images you have shot.
• Location and date mandatory.
• Camera settings—only if you wish.
•. Manipulation O.K., but notate.
• If you do not want feedback, say so in the post.
