While I'm working around the house, I love this little cob pipe.

It delivers a little more quantity of flavorful tobacco than a cigarette. It's easy to carry around, easy to hold in my mouth, easy to work with while I'm working with my hands, easy to place in my pocket when I'm done with it, takes up so little space... etc. I really like it as a "working man's pipe".

But has anyone else had the idea of using a golf tee as a "multitool"? I thought that was nifty, and it works great - easy to carry in my pocket and a perfect little tamper/scraper for such an occasion. Better and more convenient than the multitool - and lighter. The lighter take up so little space... Also, you can't see it but the pouch of tobacco is in my pocket - taking up little space.

When space is limited from having to carry around tools and such, this method is pretty cool when you want a smoke without having to stop work to smoke.

Yes. Not novel, but a creative idea on the cheap (especially if you golf).

The concave top tamps without extinguishing the cherry and the point is a decent "pick" (with the extra long tee giving more "drive"). Put in the pocket or behind the ear and it's a space saver (although my favorite tamper is a stick from @aspiring_sage )

It's been years now, but I think I came across this idea while golfing - the once-a-year golf I get to enjoy these days...

I've got a nice tamper, but it just barely doesn't fit at the bottom of this bowl... And it is not as light and easy to manipulate.

The lighter has multitools attached, but the tamper is too small and ineffective. Like you said, the golf tee concavity is helpful in keeping the cherry lit.

Yeah golf tees are great as a pipe tool, especially with narrow chambered cobs. I bought the longest bamboo ones I could find on Amazon and have them litered around the house and car.

Lighter and tee in jeans’ watch pocket, a Snus tin full of tobak in my pocket, and a Ropp J11P (I actually prefer briar to cobs for back to back all day smoking) in pocket or back loop of my leatheman XL pouch is how you’ll find me when I’m out working on my property.
Oh yeah, and cleaner in my shirt pocket…

As @AroEnglish mentioned, a bag of bamboo tees Amazon are cheap enough to have a bunch handy at any time.

Golf tees have been used as tampers and picks since Lord Umberton used on in 1887.

Hard to conceive a need to buy tees. Any decent person who plays golf would gladly give you dozens. (Since most clubs just give them away.)

If I make it to Vegas this year, I'll bring 3-400 to give away.
