The judges really like the Joe Nelson pipe quite a bit. From my conversations with the judges it probably ranked 8-10th in their view. When we displayed all the pipes I would say the consensus of the people looking at all the pipes would have rated it in the top group.
The pipe that will surprise you is the stainless steel pipe by Dru Melpoder. One of the judges told me that had Dru had the time to really polish the pipe up to presentation quality it would have been in his top seven because the construction was incredible.
I bought the Thomas James pipe and the Eric Heberling.
