Title edited. See Rule 9.

I’ve had a couple of those leather pouches with rubber lining for holding tobacco.

I put Captain black cherry into my first one, and I think I ghosted it. I’ve washed it and washed it, but I can still smell the cherry.

I’m still learning what I like, trying different, aromatic’s and mild English blends. I want to use my pouch, but I’m worried about lingering smells/tastes.

I like the idea of a leather pouch, it’s fancy.

Am I overthinking this? Does anyone dedicate tobacco pouches to different blends? Any other thoughts someone wants to share on the subject?

Thanks!

I re-use plastic tobacco pouches and put any tobacco in them, although I’d try and put closer stuff in, like an English into an old dark fired pouch, however, I’m not worried about a TINY transfer of flavor that could happen. However, the baggie idea above would work…

Since I currently only smoke two tobaccos, I have one leather pouch for each. The one for the Prince Albert doesn't seem to have ghosted. The one for the C&D Dark Fired Kentucky has.

Not sure I ever wrapped anything with a strong smell in leather before. Anything that I will eat/drink/smoke usually gets wrapped in cling wrap or Al foil.

had that kind of pouch and who ever took it better be enjoying it, but although the bag would smell of a strange mélange of whatever tobaccos I had stored in it I never saw any evidence that even with mild blends of the tobacco being effected by the ghost. Even blends that have a flavor profile of water would not have any noticeable changes when the last tenant of the pouch was a lat bomb.
