That’s a shame. It was the Camels what did in my relatives. The other pipe smoker in my family lived to a ripe old age and died peacefully, napping in his favorite chair after Sunday lunch.

Since @gawithhoggarth didn't answer the question, I will. I recently smoked both Samuel Gawith Brown No 4 and Gawith Hogarth Brown Irish X and can say with certainty that they are not the same at the time these were produced (both were purchased and jarred in 2017). I like them both, but I find Brown Irish X to be richer in flavor and a bit stronger. I obviously can't speak to current production.

The SG Brown No4 I’d smoked quite a few years ago (pre-acquisition) was very different from Brown Irish X, certainly had what tasted like DFK, I found it much stronger and less complex than Brown Irish X.
