Where NY, CT & MA meet
Just received some of this yesterday along with Aniseseed Twist. I was told that the topping on both was strong and present but I was overwhelmed with the smoky aroma. I jarred them up and eventually was able to smell the aniseed twist topping in the jar but the Brown Irish X is still overwhelmingly “smoke”. Will smoke some today.

Anyone have experience with Brown Irish X Aromatic? From what I’ve read, Brown Irish has a hi percentage of dark fired. Looking forward to trying them both.

Brown Irish twist aromatic is the bees knees if bees had knees.
Super great stuff.
The nic hit to me wasn’t too strong, but I can seriously handle some high nic.

It almost had some what of a cigar scent to the twist when you smoke it.

I like it. Kinda has a Turkish delight topping applied to it.

If you are not used to the twists, you might like the sweet rum.

The toppings aren’t strong like you would expect in other Lakeland’s blends. The best IMHO was their discontinued sweet coconut twist. Such a nice flavour, almost like the juicy fruit in erinmore actually, and you could pick it up along with the flavour of the tobacco throughout the bowl.

A friend sent me some Aniseed Twist from the UK several years ago, and I bought some recently. There is notably less topping on the current version (a hint, if any). I think the "aged versus fresh" argument would bend toward a loss of topping over time rather than an increase. I like the earlier, more heavily scented version. The aniseed really plays well with the tobacco.
