I'm not ashamed to admit that as I get older I have a lot less ego than when I was young and trying to impress folks.I think pipe smoking has had something to do with that.I'm sure age has as well.So I'm a sentimental old fella at times..Here's where I'm going with this..Something just happened in a smoke shop that has had a strange effect on me.An elderly lady walked in and ordered three ounces of a particular blend of pipe tobbaco.Letting my mouth get ahead of my brain I asked if she was buying it for her husband. She replied that he had passed away, and that she kept the tobacco in a bowl on a table. It's the kind of tobacco that he smoked she said and it helps remind me of him.I miss the smell of his pipe smoke she said..What a wonderful expression of love..I hope when I'm gone someone misses the smell of of my smoke.

Puffy:
Great story. That's love. Next time you see the same widow lady ask if she has a daughter and get her measurements and phone number while you're at it.
Thanks for the story you've made my day.

That's wonderful.

It just goes to show you how powerfully our sense of smell is associated with memory.

When it comes to pipe tobacco... always seems to a positive one.
Thanks for sharing.

That's awesome, Puffy.
One thing I told Cyndi not long ago is that I want to get a Pipe of the Year for each one of my kids. And then a POY for the year that we adopted them. When they turn 18, daughter included. Their birth year pipe would be given to them. Still on that path, just having to start saving up for the pipes after I buy my next pipe.
My daughter (7yrs old) will tell me when she likes the smell of a tobacco I'm smoking and sit next to me on the sofa.

Puffy that was a wonderful and sad story. Thank you for reminding us pipes can sometimes be more than pipes.
