Just getting back into smoking pipe tobacco, when I moved into a smaller town with no tobacco store it was harder for me to make the 3 hrs trip to the tobacco shop. The tobacco shop I went to had a great selection of pipe tobacco and i was able to sample some tobacco and the manager was very knowledgeable so I never second guessed myself when buying tobacco. But I am finding myself struggling to order tobacco online that I feel I would like. Is there any tobacco that you would recommend? Thanks

My advice would be to read reviews of a blend you liked, find a reviewer whose tastes match yours and follow his lead. Then you can explore similar or choose to vary your blends after finding a couple which provide satisfaction.

What Warren says, as well as ordering samplers from one of the site's sponsors. I've not done that, so I don't have anything more specific.
And welcome aboard!!

Welcome to PM. What blends do you like? For that matter, which ones do you not like? And why? There's an immense number of blends, at least till the perfidious FDA rules take hold, but our knowledge of your palate can help us narrow the recommendations for you.

I did order a sampler of brigadier black from p&c and I have really liked all the flavors. I have had dunhill's night cap before a few years ago and I liked that a lot.

I like both aromatics and English blends. I've really only had apple, vanilla and peach flavored tobaccos when I smoked aromatics.

Smokingpipes as well as some other sites have 1oz samplers from most of the big brands to try, but Id suggest the Frog Morton and Dunhill blends, haven't found any I dislike, and of course Captain Black and Carter Hall

That Frog Morton is a love it or hate it kind of thing.
Your not going to know what camp you fall into till you try it.
Don't know what part of the world your in, but in these parts you can still find a few brands in the local gas station or grocery? Pagan mentioned Carter Hall and Captain Black as two that come to mind you might find there.

My first tobacco was captain black, it is a sweet smoke but if you can order some online I would suggest lane 1q.

It simply takes time and trial to find your tastes. That's part of the joy of the hobby. I still order new things. I have not had much interest aro's in the past but I just bought a sampler from Boswell that has been a lot of fun.

Buy samplers; find a compatible reviewer; call up one of the on-line retailers and have them help. If you were smoking bulks from your old B&M, find out if you were smoking original store blends, or renamed Lane's. If the latter, you can find it under its Lane name at any good e-tailer.

I personally think the Frog Morton series is over-rated, and wouldn't recommend Captain Black to anybody; but my taste may not be yours.

The one piece of advice I will give is, "Smoke the best tobacco you can afford- in the best pipes you can afford." It will increase your enjoyment of the hobby.
