Getting a Good Bowl Going

I've had two CAO meers, dont like them...I really thought I'd like meers but I dont even smoke these anymore.

I have seen a few people dislike their cao meerschaums. I think it is similar to peterson having many pipes with flaws get through production. Storient's are top notch though.

I don't know for sure if its the pipes or that I just prefer briar, I have seen more good on here about storient than cao tho so you may be on to something

shouldve bought a storient instead i guess. Im afraid to drop another $150+ though.

I feel like they both have their places. Cobs probably too but I have never had one.

If you don't like it hawk sell it. Maybe eventually one day you can get a storient.

have one on the christmas list. been emailed to the in-laws as well. my father in law is a former pipe smoker which helps. he quit the pipe when he quit nails. i guess he figured it was easier to get rid of it all.

That's cool. My family won't buy me anything pipe related. Very anti-smokers.

In regard to an ealier question about my Briar... I have a newish Stanwell Bent Billiard... smoked approximately 15 bowls in it...
Today I had my best bowl yet... stayed lit... just wish I remembered how I packed it !!!
How long do Briars take to break in?

I would say a few bowls. Ive only had a couple brand new pipes but i would say yours is broke in by now.

If it is a new pipe quite a while. Building up a little cake will give you a better smoke in my opinion.

Hawk60ce, I have the Storient claw pipe and just love it, seems I grab it more than my other pipes now.
