I know this is like asking a piranhna to assist in abdominal surgery, but I'm looking at this rather straightforward Nording billiard for a great price, but wondering how a rather ordinary pipe by Nording would smoke? I've always gotten the freehands, the unusual from Nording and they were good smokers but not as spectacular as some pipes I've tried and own. Anyone have any experience with Nording pipe quo pipe?

Yeah, I already know, guys, laught it up. But really, I'm serious.

Now how did I know that was gonna happen??
Hope she's a good smoker Fred. I only have one Nording, a Canadian I picked up in Nashville last summer. It's a real good smoker. :puffy:

It looks nice, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't smoke just as good as the freehands. The grain on this one looks great too. Don't worry I'm pretty sure you made the right decision. :)

Thank you, gents, better late than never. The clincher was the Staunton Chess piece style stem and the low price. Jim, I'm thinking a Canadian would be a nice new addition to the menagerie. But the two racks you built for me are already filled up! I may have to draft you again....have a nice one bestowed on me by the FFP--shantiques is just such a great guy-- and now the bug has settled in and I want another one...

Lonestar, you nearly gave me a coronary! I've hired some gang members from Detroit's westside to pay you a visit one fine evening...

I love my Nording Billiard. It's not a racecar, nor even well made, a hack job actually, but damned if I don't enjoy the heck out of every Nording I own. And, I just love the way the Danes interpret the billiard. They're all so heavy handed, Viking blood, made with hatchets, big fires, and sacrifices to the gods! I thijk you're going to dig it. Stem looking like it was just found and randomly stuck into the stummel. As sloppy as mine is, I just love the way it smokes.

Congrats!!

UPDATE: I've read so much good stuff that I remembered a Nording billiard I was attracted to earlier, searched for it, and found it. Cancelled the other order, ordered the second billiard (amazingly even cheaper than the first) with some Nording Tobacco tins, and now I wait until Wednesday, thumb in mouth. Can't wait! Thanks to all of you, and Cosmic, also thanks to your imaginative and reassuring description. And at these prices I can get another one or two billiards. And gents, you all missed your callings: you should have been writers.

Great choice Fred. The pipe you chose is better looking than the first one. :puffy:

I'll tell the Sheriff where he might find their next of kin :nana:

I agree, I enjoyed every Nording I ever owned sloppy work and all. Neerup pipes are like pretty Nordings, they also seemed to be above average smokers.

The cool thing is, these pipes are so inexpensive you can easily afford two even three of them. I saw still another Nording billiard I'd like to own. And since they are, without insult, not as unique as a regular freehand, there's no great hurry to buy them all up at once!

My Nording pipes are good smokers. Don't think you'll regret it. These aren't envy producing pipes, but you might get points for being knowledgable about pipes and unpretentious. I was gifted by friends with a Nording freehand signature pipe and my wife loves its rugged irregular look. Smokes great.

Sorry for being late to the party. I was going to tell you to buy it, because I own a similar one, then I realized that you bought the same one that I have.

When I bought it, I was expecting it to be full rustic pipe like in the picture.

I bought it for $39.99 from P&C, unfortunately it had a scratch and dent on the stem, P&C refunded $15. I bet you couldn't beat my price :)
Oh, by the way, it smokes fine, the draw is nice, smokes cool, not the best pipe though. However the best you can get for $25 :)
