I like this tobacco, it used to come in a small rectangular Germain type tin. The tobacco is not really a flake, it seemed to always harden together in a soft brick.
Anyway, top shelf stuff. I recently ordered three tins and they were the larger, Gawith style tin. Has anyone smoked it out of this tin? Is it the same? I was planning on letting mine age awhile.

Oh my! Yet another blend that flew completely under my radar! I'll have to buy some when the back orders are filled.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Germain's Medium Flake has been one of my first choices when I reach for a tobacco out of my stash for a while now. I've got three tins aging and one jarred for smoking. It has quite a unique tin aroma, and I know this sounds gross but it smells almost like dead grass or slightly rotting hay to me but it smokes like a dream and the flavors are amazing. All my tins were bought last year so they are probably the larger size. The flakes aren't sharp separate flakes either but rather kind of a dog's breakfast of clumps and chunks like the sallow described. No matter the tin size, this stuff is really nice and I highly recommend it.

Yes it has a beautiful musty smell. I prefer brown flake but it is impossible to find.
