I knew that Sol was pretty huge in human terms, but a few months ago I was reading an article which included a "throwaway statement" that light from the Sun's poles (and I guess all around the edge of the solar disc) takes 10 minutes to reach the earth, as opposed to 8 minutes for light from the center.

And remember, the Andromeda Galaxy is one light-second closer to its inevitable collision with the Milky Way Galaxy with every hour that passes.
