GBD seconds. Smooth pipes will have fills. Some really gnarly rustication. A great price for those just beginning a pipe rotation.
Thanks for the heads up! Took a punt on a couple pipes. The price is right - so long as they smoke well, I'll be content.GBD seconds. Smooth pipes will have fills. Some really gnarly rustication. A great price for those just beginning a pipe rotation.
Will do. They pass a pipe cleaner with ease, so just need to clean them up and will start puffing this weekend.Let us know how they smoke for you.
Very coolFirst time smoking with this fun little pipe. I honestly cannot tell what determined this to be a "second," unless it's got something to do with the rusticated finish, but I'm not educated enough to know what that issue would be. It smokes great, far better than the piece of crap Rattray's pipe I bought a couple months ago at 4x the price and passes a pipe cleaner like a hot knife through butter. The mortise and tenon are well-made and there are no discernible flaws.
I am very happy with this purchase and hope the other 2 perform as well as this guy. This will make a great Virginia pipe that I would recommend to anyone, assuming no major flaws. Incidentally, i chose Peretti's 150th Anniversary Flake for the maiden voyage. I don't hear a lot of chatter about this blend and I hope I'm not letting the cat out of the bag, but if you like dark, pressed virginia with a deep complex profile, you need a paint can of the 150th.
