This and the 9242 are my favorite shapes from GBD. Nice fix on the woodworking.
You may have tried this already. I’ve had pretty good results with stubborn bands by placing them in the freezer overnight

cigrmaster, in my snippets of memory when i was a young boy, if somenone mentions a pipe, there's only a fat bent, S shaped bent, tapered pipe pops up in my head, it's never been a billiard. I think this shape is not only rare, it's also iconic, and a beautiful shape even in someone's memory.

Can't Leave
A restorative miracle, folks, that's the only way I can express it!
The GBD arrived safely and upon taking it out of the box and un-wrapping the bubble wrap, miraculous is what came to mind. It’s absolutely incredible to behold!
Knowing I inflicted my share (and the worst) of the damage on this historic beauty and how horrible I felt about it, redemption appeared from amongst the bubble wrap! The pictures and the narrative in this thread tell the story.
Georged, again, I cannot thank you enough! I had no idea what a dial indicator is but you can bet I looked it up and I can see how you approached this restoration; with the eye and mind of an engineer. I am grateful beyond expression! The pipe is made more gorgeous by your restoration, I will definitely be more careful!
Thank you, again!
