Just picked up an estate GBD 9438. Under the GBD stamp is the Congress stamp. I cannot find any info about Congress being a grade, and what I can find in relation is that the folks who have one, don't have any info about it.
Can any of the GBD collectors enlighten me as to whether Congress was a grade of pipe?

I was watching that one. I believe that pipe would be a Cadogan era pipe. During that time, GBD and Comoy's introduced a lot amount of new finishes that weren't in earlier catalogs. I think that was an early merger piece, it still has the rondell and straightline stamping, but with the non-tapered stem.
