Today I took cuttings of various "plants" in the garden. I don't know their names. But they look nice.
Stuck them in moist compost and will wait and see what happens.
I'm sure something will grow.

I have a nice garden, just don't know exactly what I have. I recognise roses (I bought them the other day), I recognise fuchsias and hebes. Thats about it.

My cheap hedge trimmer died yesterday. It had done well.

I think I need to replace it with a much longer trimmer. Just not sure whether to get petrol or electric.
I have tried a petrol one. Nearly killed me after a few minutes with the weight and the vibrations.

Just as we're in for about a week of rain - finally - I see tips on my Samsun following. Which as I understand it is a sign to start priming off leaves to cure.
...I'm not sun-curing anything in this weather, so on the plant they shall stay.

And here's all the flowers on the Red Russian that I'm growing purely out of curiosity and for decorative purposes.
Might still try to smoke it though.

Having food seeds in case the excrement hits the blades, can be far wiser than having tobacco. I play around with my gardening (per above) and simply hope to improve annually. It's a pleasure to eat my own produce, and supply chain interruptions can be a reality.
Dang right. I keep a minimum of 5 years worth of heirloom seeds.

This year we planted corn, potatoes, carrots, eggplant, pickling cucumbers, garlic, onions, green beans, field peas, broccoli, bannana peppers, red bell peppers, green bell peppers and tomatoes.

So far we've canned 6 quarts of green beans, 16 pints of bread and butter pickles and 12 pints of dill pickles. Frozen 4 pounds of broccoli and 2 dozen bell peppers. Been eating a bunch too.

Love it - I’m growing potatoes in bags for the first time and they are thriving, though started late. Same with the raised beds but the array of peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes will be fine and I’ll plant a late summer/fall crop of the things I haven’t started.
We did potatoes the first time this year and the greens are big and full……guess we will see what we get when we pull them soon.

The thunderstorms and relentless rain the past few days really pounded the tobacco plants. Had to stake at least half of them and a few leaves got ruffed up. Hoping we get some sun soon.

I am not farming commercially this year. Made a deal with a builder to residentialize the farm.
But, I still have the orchard with peaches, but no peaches this year. I hard pruned the trees. But, apples, figs, guavas, apricots, persimmons, bronze and black muscadines. This all for wines.

The garden was late getting started, because of a back injury. But, I did get romas going, green beans, onions, garlic, and several beds of greens. Ahhh, and a few other things we eat.
Peppers as always, Giant bells, poblanos, giant jalapeños, anahiems, and my own hybrid banana peppers. They smell and taste like grapefruits, but better.

No tobacco, because I grew a processed way too much several years ago. I’m still processing it.

I’ve also planted a variety for flowers for Mrs Cosmic, and my favorites, jasmine, honeysuckle, gardenias, dahlias, peonies, and lilies. I’m slowly encircling the backyard with flowering vines and beds. I love the way the yard shifts aromas with the seasons.

My wife and I joined a community garden this year and have our own 4x20 plot. We are growing green beans, purple potatoes, and sunflowers. My wife and a new garden friend are also in charge of two smaller community plots where they are growing a mix of perennial and annual herbs. The sunflowers are just starting to bloom. The potatoes have been the most fun as we've mounded up as much as our plot allows and they have been going crazy. A few years ago we grew sugar snap peas and they grew much quicker than our green beans. The green beans also seem to like to climb on the vertical posts more the the string we stretched horizontally, so we have to rectify that this week. I'm not a green thumb by any means, but this has certainly been a fun experience. Here are a few pics from earlier today.
