I'm enjoying my first bowl of this right now. Obviously not a big enough sample size to draw any real conclusions, but my first impression is that the tin description is spot on. The topping is applied very lightly, but is still quite present (and quite pleasant) at mid bowl. In this pipe (Sav Oscar 404 Zulu), the bourbon flavor predominates over the vanilla. There's a little spicy tang that's a little stronger than I expected, but not in a bad way; think more Knob Creek than Maker's Mark. The spice is like a muted black pepper. Other than that bit of spice, just very mellow Virginia with the welcome sweetness of the topping. It's like a slightly stronger Deep Hollow. I like it, and really look forward to trying it in a larger bowl, and cracking open an aged tin in a few years.
The moisture level was good right out if the tin with no drying time.

I received my tin yesterday but haven't had a chance to smoke it yet. I'll post my results tomorrow.

Gents. Please note that the current tobacco crawl hosted by brass (which is offering GL Pease blends) has been extended one more week. Greg agreed to join us for another week to give us a grand tour of his thoughts and insights about his new blend (VC) as we sample it together!
Many thanks to Greg's graciousness and brass's top notch management of the crawl! I believe the assumption is the VC part of the crawl starts Friday the 30th. Get your orders in :puffy:

FYI, Greg is hosting this month's Pax Tobacco Crawl and we've extended it a week and added Virginia Cream to the menu. If you've smoked the blend, please consider dropping by and posting your impressions. We'll begin smoking Virginia Cream on Friday, October 30.
Details for the crawl can be found here: http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/october-tobacco-crawl-with-greg-l-pease/page/3
