I'm enjoying my first bowl of this right now. Obviously not a big enough sample size to draw any real conclusions, but my first impression is that the tin description is spot on. The topping is applied very lightly, but is still quite present (and quite pleasant) at mid bowl. In this pipe (Sav Oscar 404 Zulu), the bourbon flavor predominates over the vanilla. There's a little spicy tang that's a little stronger than I expected, but not in a bad way; think more Knob Creek than Maker's Mark. The spice is like a muted black pepper. Other than that bit of spice, just very mellow Virginia with the welcome sweetness of the topping. It's like a slightly stronger Deep Hollow. I like it, and really look forward to trying it in a larger bowl, and cracking open an aged tin in a few years.
The moisture level was good right out if the tin with no drying time.
