Which G.l. Pease Blends are good for a beginner smoker? Tobaccoreviews.com classifies "haddos delight" as medium-strong strength (very strong?) is that an indication of flavor or nicotine content?? (kinda sensitive to N) I would like to try some g.l pease blends but dont know where to start? I would like to try some full flavored blends without high nicotine contents. I smoke frog morton blends and enjoy them very well..still havent figured out what order to smoke them in though,...Frog morton first then bayou..etc?? I am looking to place an order for G.L. Pease, Mc Clelland, Hearth and Home and I dont know which blends are good for a beginner Briar Brother?? (pipesandcigars.com has amazing prices right now!!!) All suggestions are highly appreciated!!

Sorry BriarBrother, I'm not yet familiar with the blends you have mentioned.
As a beginner I stared with Lane 1-Q.

Then I tried the Seattle Pipe Club blends to experience some Latakia.

I found Seattle Evening to be the mildest of these.
I recommend them both to new smokers, but you'll need help from others for any other tobaccos.
Your best bet may be to throw caution to the wind and just start experimenting.
Have fun!

GLP Picadilly is a nice smooth blend with plenty of flavor and depth . To me it is a all time great tobacco that one can smoke all day and not get bored with it .

I just bought 1-Q.... i havent tried it yet....I will probably try it soon but i have heard great things about it.
As for both Hearth and home as well as McClelland blends, i have not been disappointed yet! Try something that sounds good and hopefully you will have a new favorite.

Try McClelland's Blue Mountain or GLP Meridian. Both of these blends are high quality tobacco and are easy to smoke without a high nicotine rating.

I'm going to place an order for G.l. Pease blends from pipesandcigars.com (they have amazing prices right now).. If anyone can give me brief tasting notes or tips on smoking any of these blends (do I dry any of them out before smoking?, high/low nicotine? morning smoke? Night smoke? etc..?),.. Does anyone know if any of these blends are similar to the 4 frog mortons (which ones?) Good choices? as these are my favorites so far!!! I really like the Original Frog morton and Frog morton on the town as well. I would highly appreciate it.!!! Sorry for all the questions  ..I'm trying to learn from my fellow BBrothers!!

Try going over to luxurytobaccoreviews.com or tobaccoreviews.com to both search and read reviews on tobaccos. Don't just look at the "star" ratings. See what the reviewers say about the tobacco before deciding.

+1 to kcghost and I would add that I personally read the lower-rated star posts more often than the higher ones since I want to understand what folks DON'T like about a certain toby. If they don't like it because it's "expensive" or "trying to be Dunhill 965 from 80 years ago" is different than someone saying it tended to bite or was boring....IMHO of course...

Many boutique blenders don't offer aromatics because, TBH, the experienced smokers they target frequently don't smoke aromatics - or very little.

McClelland has some very nice full-flavored non-aromatics that are worth exploring that aren't especially high in nicotine. I haven't smoked any Pease blends, and my experience with H&H is limited to 10 To Midnight and Larry's blend, at this point.

For an "all-day English" - which may be what you seek, at this point - may I recommend Peterson's Old Dublin? It is a staple for me. :puffy:

Larry's Blend and Steamroller are my all day smokes, with the odd bowl of Frog Morton, and Namaste thrown in. Once in awhile some 7 seas royal. The odd time i'll have a bowl of LJ Virginin or LJ Burley but mostly larry's blend and steamroller
